Finally, 1 year after applying, I am now the proud owner of a Botswana work permit. So after a year of working as a volunteer to our company, I can finally be an employee. Usually this process takes approx 8 weeks, and that is how long it took for our residents permits and the other work permit to come through. Mine just took unusually long, they lost it, left it on the wrong persons desk, filed it away with the wrong files, and a bunch of other unfortunate things. Never mind, I am happy to finally have it.
