After probably one of our last little European trips (we have really failed to see all of Europe before leaving) to Greece, we are back in Ireland again. During our holiday we were both reading a series of books by the author Alexander McCall Smith. There is six books in the series in total, called:
- No 1 ladies detective agency
- tears of the Giraffe
- Morality for beautiful girls
- Kalahari typing school for men
- Blue shoes and happiness
- In the company of Cheerful ladies
It is all about an African lady, who has started a detective agency in Gaborone Botswana, and her adventures with this company. It is written very very funny, and we recognize loads of small things. I would definitely recommend these to anyone who has ever been in Africa, or is interested. Eventhough they are fiction, there are some wise lessons for us to be learned from them, such as: never get on the Gaborone roads on pay day (end of month) as there are so many drunk drivers that it is an absolute chaos, and accidents everywhere. Never say anything bad about anyone, as all people know eachother somehow, and are related many times. It is a very polite thing to ask people if they have slept well, when greeting them.
Getting back into reality now, with house sale etc. I will update soon.
